Year 6 Graduation activities
The completion of Primary School is a special time for our students and their families.
Over the 8 years of a Primary School student’s journey, we understand that each student has been taught and nurtured by many teachers to reach the milestone that we celebrate at the Year 6 Graduation Ceremony. At LPS, we invite our educators across the years to play a key role in the Year 6 Graduation Ceremony, celebrated in front of proud parents, carers, families and friends. It is an opportunity to create a lasting memory together with speeches, songs, photos, stories and awards.
We acknowledge the significant achievements made by our leavers at Lockridge Primary School and have special guests including State Members of Parliament present the Dave Kelly Achiever’s Award, as well as the City of Swan Citizenship Awards, and the Donna Faragher Award for Leadership and Service. We also acknowledge the outstanding contribution to a quality Sports, Arts, STEM and Languages education at Lockridge Primary School, inviting our highly experienced Specialist Teachers to present the Drama, Science, AUSLAN and Physical Education awards.
Our Graduation Ceremony also extends into our local community, with guest presenters from prominent and respected members of the community including the Lions Club of Bassendean, to present the Harry Kingston Encouragement Award, and members from the Department of Education to present the North Metro Education Region Commitment to Values Award, as well as the Dux Award recognising student academic excellence across all areas.
Each year at the Graduation Ceremony, the President of the Lockridge PS P&C presents scholarships to selected students into the following year.
A final, highly anticipated highlight is the announcement by the current Lockridge Primary School Head Boy and Head Girl, of the next year’s elected Head Students, passing the baton of student leadership on to the next worthy recipients.
At Lockridge Primary School, our Year 6 Graduation is an event that celebrates the pride, strength, wisdom and courage of our graduating students, who have have supported so that they are ready to take on the next chapter of their lives.
